embrace positive change

January was definitely my "warm-up period" for 2011. The good, the bad, and the ugly slapped me in the face. I like to think of it as just a re-cap of 2010. Thanks to whoever is directing this show. Now can I have a shot at it?

Lets get this positive change moving already! Walking away from some things while embracing other, all while trying to maintain my personal life, relationships, finances, and well.... my sanity.

Here are some aw-mazing reminders that I found to
{Keep on truckin' & embrace a new direction}
(So grateful for guidance on the net to help direct me in some sort of sane direction, WITHOUT THE COUNSELING COSTS!)

"Take a break": I LOVE taking a yoga class to center myself, an at-home mani, or just something that I enjoy doing alone to break from all the chaos. Heck, sometimes its nice to just take a break from talking to other people, and talk to yourself!(Enters the bluetooth!)

"Surround yourself with friends": They make everything seem better!"Pinpoint your strengths and values": Pay attention to these and embrace them! It’s amazing how much you will love how you spend your days.
"
Ask yourself the hard questions": You know, the ones that you are afraid of the answer… or you just do not have any idea how to answer. I will be writing these down on my oversized pad of paper ASAP!

{These simple but helpful tips were found at Self Magazine online. Of course I provided my 2 cents.}

she lives a garnished life.

{GARNISHED: (adj) GARN-ISHED}
Decorated. Embellished.
"She lives a GARNISHED life"

Welcome. Come in, stay a while.

She'll offer you a glass of wine served in a glass that is notably from her latest shopping spree.... she'll turn on the perfect playlist that has been pre-organized for moments like this.

Her grandmother's clip-on earrings glisten through the movement of her long stringy hair. Her lashes bat as she smiles and tells you a little about herself and the prepping of this short gathering, and all the things that she thinks about during the day.

She loves an accessory. She loves that glitter, that shine. She wouldn't leave the house without adding that extra piece (white-out those words from Ms. Chanel, herself). Load up on those things that you cannot decide on because you love it all. Decisions are too difficult to make when your in a hurry. She thinks... "If I could have only made more time to really think this outfit through" Clearly she's frazzled; her hair was overlooked and is in complete crisis.

She can't cook. Ok, she can... she just doesn't follow instructions well. She gets distracted easily. She gets caught up in a dream. She's a Pisces. Water is now overflowing and somehow causing smoke. Mmmm, wrong. She never turned on the timer for the oven. Blackened- Roasted Onion... (what were these called again?). Her appetizer she was planning to serve will now be much less and she finds the "emergency-guest backup kit" in her pantry to save the day (and her pride).

{A silver tray of crackers and olive tapenade with a stunning cheese plate arrives in hand. "Look at how fabulous it looks!"}

As she watches and analyzes what you grab and how you dip it, she will continue to share her inspirations of life and all things that GARNISH her well-being, but most of all, her soul.

She pursues you to talk. This may be a selfish move, but it benefits you both. As the words continue, she watches and listens intently. She's reading you. She's reading herself. Your part of the conversation ends, she recaps and finds the lesson out of the discussion for you both. You both stand, as if the director shouted "That's a wrap!"

Her eyes follow your steps as your pretty-amazing shoes walk towards the door. Everything being said is registering in her mind as a holding cell for her over-analyzing battle she will have once you have left. She feels satisfied and content as you smile and wave. Her heart warms and her face lights up. She now relives every moment,starting at "Welcome", then picks up a magazine.
